MORALE
The AWEDA MORALE Program is an innovative community-based Empowerment Program created by AWEDA to provide supplemental services to its members, their children, families and communities regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, age, or ability. Participation in our MORALE program launches women on a journey from victim to survivor to active citizen. Basically, AWEDA embraces, educates and elevates its members and those with similar needs through its MORALE Program.
MORALE program represents Mentorship, Ownership, Responsibility, Accountability, Learning and Empowerment.
The MORALE Program is a unique gender/holistic approach to multicultural knowledge-based capacity building and community economic development solutions that teaches women, their children and families new ways of thinking and behaving.
AWEDA is proud to work towards reducing poverty by forming cooperatives and social enterprises, with a renewed vision of community economic development. The ultimate goal of MORALE is to create a climate for change, encourage individual responsibility, build supportive networks, and encourage members to teach others what they are learning.
Mission - The mission of the MORALE Program is to identify, test and help sustain pathways out of poverty for all members.
Vision - To help break the cycle of poverty by addressing the economic and social needs of marginalized and disempowered immigrant communities in Nova Scotia.
Our Philosophy - At AWEDA, we believe that making social and economic changes mean addressing the root causes of problems, so we focus on projects that address the underlying obstacles that impede the full participation of women and girls in Canadian society.
